West Chester Ohio in top 100 Best Places to Live - 2014
You just have to love West Chester Ohio, recently named in the top 100 best places to live by Time.com's Money, coming in at number 30.
I've been watching West Chester for the last couple of years wondering what the city plans to do with undeveloped commercial real estate in the are, and how it might impact house values and local real estate.
West Chester doesn't have a traditional "down-town" area like many cities do, however project "The Square", estimated at well over $300 million is well underway and offering resort style living with luxury apartments all within walk-able distance to stores, restaurants, services and work seems a great use. Point is, big boys don't undertake projects like these without doing their homework.
A median home price of $179,000 with average property taxes of $4009.00 the city's projected job growth rate is 4.4%. The Square adds a sense of completeness to West Chester, and many choose to live here for the quality of lifestyle with affordability and many commute to Cincinnati or Dayton. Not everyone commutes though, especially with employers like G.E Aviation and Cornerstone for big local employers among others.
In some other blog posts around the internet I was covering which regions in Ohio will fare best for millennial buyers, with an eye on unemployment, and though Columbus / Central Ohio looks to come in first, the Cincinnati metro area looks to come in second in the state.
If you're looking to buy a home is SW Ohio and hoping for a strategic location near business with great transportation thoroughfare access, I'd definitely look into West Chester and also Monroe which straddles Interstate 75. Both cities have killer location for the working middle class, and access to a growing, strengthening jobs market. I also expect metro Cincinnati real estate to outperform the Dayton real estate's metro area with gains in house value in 2015. Time will tell, but there are a lot of strong indicators if you follow local news.
If you're unfamiliar with West Chester real estate, it's worth taking a strong look at. Homes for sale in West Chester Ohio range from very affordable beginnings to some grandiose luxury homes in popular subdivisions like Preserves at Wetherington, Glenview Farm, Estates at Foxborough and one of my favorites; Reserves of Providence. The link below has all the active current single family listings, but you can learn a lot more about West Chester below the listings on the first page.
But as I said, if you're considering a home in the area, you might really want to look into homes for sale in Monroe Ohio in addition. There are still numerous affordable single family homes and also magnificent luxury properties that spark a lot envy. Either way, both cities have regional location hard to beat.
