Buyers and Sellers Should Enjoy Easy Access to Their Realtor
It is amazing how many people who have recently tried to sell their homes come to me with the same complaint, "My real estate agent didn't return my calls."
This is unacceptable behavior according to those of us professionals who work very hard for our clients and to promote the profession as-a-whole. There is rarely, if ever, an excuse for not returning a phone call, text, or e-mail. Now this isn't to say that I have never "missed" one, because I have. There are times that I get busy, receive and read a text, and then forget to return it, but once I realize the mistake, I make sure to apologize and immediately get back into the habit of a daily review of all of the incoming calls and messages that I receive. I take pride in returning calls to my clients whether I have something important to say or not.
Communication is the Glue in the Real Estate Professions
Land is the foundation of real estate. People and considerations are the components of a real estate transaction. Communication is the glue that holds it all together.
If someone (a person) wanted to sell their home (real estate) to someone else (a person), how would they find a buyer without communicating their desire to sell the property? If a buyer (person) wanted to buy (consideration) a home (real estate), how could they without making an offer (communication). If a buyer or seller wanted to know how a change in the interest rates could affect their ability to buy or sell real estate and they asked their real estate agent by leaving her a message that never got returned (lack of communication)....
Professional real estate agents understand that the majority of their business involves communicating. They are responsible for all types of it through many different means. An agent must be able to e-mail, text, and converse on the phone and in person, all to educate and support their clients and customers through a very complicated process. We find success when we can handle the means of communicating without effort for the benefit of everyone else involved in a real estate transaction.
