Home Ownership is Still the American Dream
In polls people have been asked what's at the top of the list in life, and 40% say a home of their own. Mankind will always have a primal need to own land, territory and a home, and owning a home provides many wonderful benefits over a lifetime.
A home is where we create memories, construct a futures, and a strong vehicle to build long term financial security for families and individuals. In this current general market offering affordability and still historically low interest rates, it's an excellent time to buy a home.
First Time Buyers Ask, "Who should I work with?"
Considering buying a home is a very "big deal" for most people, easy to get on the emotional up and down "roller coaster". Every purchase is different, with some similar elements, and working with a local, knowledgeable Realtor provides you with not just guidance, but helps to simplify complex aspects of a home purchase and protect your interests while negotiating on your behalf. A competent Realtor helps you keep focused on your goals financially and emotionally. You should work with a buyer's agent. All Realtors can function as a buyer or listing agent, and in some cases dual agent.
When functioning as a listing agent, that agent has a commitment to help the seller net as much as possible and protect the seller's interests, not the buyers'. However, should the agent function as a dual agent, the Realtor can no longer "go to bat" for either side but merely facilitate the transaction. You're best off to carefully select a professional buyer's agent if you're in the market for a home.
