Berkshire Hathaway Charities for Children

berkhshire hathaway homeservices charitiesI just love this company, and I knew when I made the switch it was the right decision. It's seems this company draws out the best in people, and actively involved with communities and giving back, especially to children. Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices and its many franchises have several programs targeting children as the beneficiaries.

Soul for Soles

On the 21st of June in just a few days' time for instance, our Regional Vice President and Partner Michael Smith, has sponsored a "Soul to Soles" 5k race, providing sneakers for under privileged kids in Lorain County Ohio. Participants can walk, stroll or run the distance. Too, anyone can participate in sponsorship and donation opportunities to help the kids of local families faced with financial difficulties.

Due to the kindness and participation of over 15,000 children between the ages of 6 - 18 years of age  have received a brand new pair of shoes!

You can still register, donate and participate in whatever manner you choose, visit http://soultosoleprogram.com/

Now, I just love a company that gets involved and gives back and also encourages others to do so. I see this at a company level down to our Realtors' involvement at very local levels as well, working through organizations like the Young Professionals Association that our own Carrie Robbins on the Dayton Area Board of Realty is constantly giving her time to. This organization helps young professionals network, learn and grow while they participate in projects that benefit anywhere from a family to a community as a whole, throwing in their time and skills and learn the sense of pride and deep satisfaction that comes with giving of yourself.

Berkshire Hathaway Adopts Sunshine Kids

One of the coolest ways I see Berkhsire Hathaway HomeServices giving back everywhere is through Sunshine Kids,

The non-profit foundation The Sunshine Kids, established in 1982, is committed to providing positive group activities and emotional support for children fighting cancer. The Sunshine Kids provides a variety of fun, engaging programs and events at no cost for children receiving cancer treatments in hospitals across the United States. This amazing foundation that we as a company have embraced adds quality of life by providing these challenged children with exciting, positive group activities, helping kids do what kids are supposed to do ... have fun and celebrate life! (Which is what we all should be doing!)

Locally, affiliates hold a wide variety of fundraising events benefiting The Sunshine Kids. Affiliate representatives participate from local to regional events held for these children, from travel trips to hospital parties. All activities, transportation, lodging and food are provided free of charge to the children and attending medical staff.

I love Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices and its People

My business partner Greg Hancock and I manage the Referral program here in Ohio, connecting buyers and sellers with Realtors, and also spend a great deal of time training and mentoring new agents, but also seasoned agents with communication technology, social media, and ways  to create a super buying or selling experience for consumers. In doing so, we get to talk to a lot of agents about what's going on in their own back yards, and must say I'm moved by the overall spirit of community involvement and giving back on so many levels. Sure, I love being a Realtor and being involved with these people's success, but as a person, it does my heart a lot of good to hear good news on a frequent basis and see others sharing their kindness and compassion in personal and powerful ways.

I just wanted to say how much I appreciate people and companies that give back and help organizations like Sunshine Kids because I've been there to witness it first hand as a parent and mother. God bless.
